Motivation is a fantastic personality trait. When you get to the point where you get things done without hesitation become practically guaranteed to succeed.

However, for many of us, self help motivation is something we struggle with. Maybe this hasn't always been like this, but if you are still reading then you can probably relate on some level to a lack of motivation.

We take the easy way out, we cheat, and procrastinate. Lack of motivation can become a massive problem if it spirals out of control. Here are some easy tips you can use in your life INSTNATLY to increase your self help motivation, increase your productivity, and achieve success whatever your aim:

Write Down Your Goals

This is the first thing you should do. It makes the goal real, brings it into reality, and gets it out of your own secret world in your head.

These goals you choose need to be realistic and achievable. There is no point in setting goals which are near on impossible to achieve - there is a difference between giving yourself a challenge and setting yourself up for failure. If you “fail” you will be even more unmotivated and you will struggle even more.

Break Down Your Goals

If you have BIG goals then begin to split them up and focus on one small goal at any one time. You will soon reach them, and each time you complete a goal you will gain a boost, and become even more motivated.

Reward Yourself For Completing Goals

Make completing a goal a positive thing, every goal you complete give yourself a reward, just something small such as being allowed a snack, or allowing yourself to watch some TV later perhaps. These rewards give you another reason to complete the goal apart from the main reason you are doing the task in the first place.

Don't Procrastinate

When you think of something you need to do, to quote Nike-  JUST DO IT! Don’t hesitate at all.

Successful people start things as they think of them. Procrastination is a warning sign on the road to laziness / failure. So if you feel like procrastinating thank yourself for the warning and get right on that task straight away.

Make the Task Fun!

Start to enjoy your time, and enjoy the time you spend doing your tasks.

Try to lighten them up; think of a new way to do the task - a change is as good as something new quite often. Perhaps listen to music as you work to lighten your mood. Or think of how finishing the task will really allow you to enjoy yourself and let go.
