Dont Let Shyness Take Over Your Life

Shyness can ruin peoples lives in extreme cases and can lead to depression or even agrophobia. Experiencing shyness or anxiety happens at one stage or another of our lives. Feelings of shyness can arise in many social settings.

People who stop being shy for years can suffer those feelings rise up again when meeting perhaps an old school teacher, or friend from way back. . Overcoming shyness is just a case of practice, practice, practice. Unfortunately, your shyness can return when you are feeling low. Everyday situations that might make you step out of your comfort zone should be planned. Try to prepare conversational topics so there's no awkwardness. It's beneficial to talk to strangers, and by starting the conversation you can gain more self confidence.

Being in a group that makes you feel shy can be detrimental to overcoming your shyness. When you do meet up with them again make sure you're ready, and on!

Being too hard on yourself will have negative consequences, you need to improve your self confidence! Make sure to stay positive though, as being too self-critical can lead to lowering your self esteem. Start with small tasks and judge yourself kindly, if there are anything's that you're not happy with make a note of it and move on.

 

Travelling can be great for helping to overcome shyness, as meeting new people gives you a chance to reinvent yourself, plus the people you meet are not going to judge you as they don't know you. You can comeback feeling not only refreshed, but less anxious and shy around people you know, taking care not to let your shyness creep back in. Getting over shyness is an ongoing process. It's never too late to learn how to stop being shy.
