Settings goals represents one of the key components to find success in your life! This is what guides you and tells you that you are on the right track. However, before you write your goals on a piece of paper, you need to know where you want to go!
You need to determine your end result to find success. That means you need to know what you want to achieve before you even start doing it. You need to be clear cut about what you wish to achieve. Basically, you need to establish your destination before you can set out on the road. To help you with this you can go to this site www.cheerstothegoodlife.com
When you plan a route on a map you always have a starting point and a destination. It works the same way in your life: Your destination should be the goal that you want to accomplish in life! Let me explain.
When you create your destination, you need to start by saying something like this: "I want to be the best single family home real estate investor in my city" or “I want to be an Iron Man competitor and teach people how to train to compete as well” or “I want to the best student in my martial art school and obtain my black belt faster than anybody else”. Basically, you need to envision exactly what you hope to become at the end of the road. In order to clearly know if you are getting closer to your dreams, you need to have an idea of exactly what your dreams are! To help you with this you can go to this site www.cheerstothegoodlife.com
Before I continue, let me clarify something. Saying something like: “I want a million dollars in my bank account” stands for zilch. You are wasting your time and the odds are you won’t become a millionaire! You absolutely need to be clear on what you want to achieve. The clearer you are the better. And by doing so, it'll help you position your goals! Write down your destination in as much detail as possible so you can set the appropriate goals in order to attain that destination.
So let’s take an example of “a road map” or “destination” from before to show you how to set some goals. "I want to be the best single family home real estate investor in my city". Like I said the clearer you are with your destination the more it'll help you set your goals.
Here are some example of different goals you may have to accomplish on a road map towards becoming a successful real estate investor: research a home (neighborhood, types of homes), find the home, make an offer, close the deal, find a mortgage, fill-out the papers at the lawyer’s office, take possession of the home, find a tenant, get the first and last month rent from the tenant, manage the property and do it all over again.
That was just a small example of the different goals that you may need to accomplish. You should retain this: goals are there to guide you to your destination so they may constantly be changing. And that's okay. Actually your goals should change…
Now believe me when I tell you that every time you have accomplished a goal you are one step closer to your destination and you are going to fell great about yourself. But what’s really important is that you need to keep on going and never stop until you have accomplished what you set out to do!
So the next time you are sitting around watching TV, why don’t you decide to create your road map and start setting some goals? And by doing this, success will be right around the corner J
